Ingredients
-
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
-
3–4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
-
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
-
6–8 slices deli ham (or thinly sliced leftover Easter ham)
-
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
-
Optional: chopped parsley or extra shredded cheese for topping
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth creases.
-
Spread Dijon mustard evenly over the pastry, leaving a ½-inch border.
-
Layer ham slices over the mustard, then sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly on top.
-
Roll up the pastry tightly from the long side into a log.
-
Slice into ½ to ¾ inch rounds with a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
-
Place pinwheels on the baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
-
Brush tops lightly with beaten egg.
-
Bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
-
Cool slightly before serving and enjoy every cheesy bite!
Notes
-
Keep your puff pastry cold for the best “puff!”
-
You can swap the cheddar for Swiss, gouda, or your favorite cheese!
-
Assemble the rolls ahead of time and bake fresh when you’re ready.
-
If using leftover Easter ham, just thinly slice it for easy rolling.
-
Freezing Tip: Slice and freeze pinwheels before baking. Bake directly from frozen, adding 5–7 extra minutes.
