Garlic Butter Steak Bites & Creamy Parmesan Shells

Tender, juicy garlic butter steak bites piled high over creamy Parmesan pasta shells — a hearty, cozy meal that feels restaurant-worthy but is so easy to make at home! Rich, buttery, cheesy, and packed with flavor, this is the ultimate comfort food you’ll want to make again and again.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Butter Steak Bites:

  • 1.5 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Creamy Parmesan Shells:

  • 8 ounces small pasta shells

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 cups milk (whole or 2% preferred)

  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak pieces with salt and pepper.

  3. Add steak to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for about 2 minutes per side until browned and just cooked through. Work in batches if needed. Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic, stirring until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Return steak to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter. Remove from heat.

  5. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.

  6. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth. Simmer until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.

  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until the sauce is smooth and creamy.

  8. Add cooked shells to the sauce and stir to coat evenly.

  9. Serve creamy Parmesan shells topped with garlic butter steak bites and garnish with fresh parsley!

Notes

  • Make sure the steak is dry before searing for the best golden crust!

  • Don’t skip freshly grated Parmesan — it melts beautifully and gives that luscious, cheesy finish.

  • Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or peas for a boost of veggies.

  • Use half-and-half instead of milk for an extra luxurious sauce.
