Ingredients
-
1 package (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
-
1 cup warm water (110°F)
-
2 tablespoons sugar
-
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 tablespoons melted butter
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
-
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, whisk together warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
-
Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Stir until dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
-
Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
-
Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick, and transfer to the baking sheet.
-
Mix melted butter and minced garlic; brush over the dough.
-
Sprinkle mozzarella, parmesan, and Italian seasoning (if using) evenly on top.
-
Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and edges are golden.
-
Slice into breadsticks, garnish with parsley, and serve warm!
Notes
-
For quicker prep, you can use store-bought pizza dough!
-
Freshly shredded cheese melts SO much better than pre-shredded!
-
Want a flavor twist? Try adding pepper jack or smoked provolone.
-
Leftovers are rare (trust me!) but if you have some, they reheat beautifully in the oven at 350°F for a few minutes.
