Ingredients
For the Steak:
-
2 ribeye or New York strip steaks (about 1 inch thick)
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 tablespoon butter (for searing)
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
¼ teaspoon black pepper
-
1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
Let steaks come to room temperature (about 20–30 minutes). Pat dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
-
Heat olive oil and butter in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Once sizzling, add steaks. Sear 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting to your preferred doneness.
-
Remove steaks from the pan and let them rest under foil.
-
In the same pan, lower the heat. Melt butter, then add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
-
Stir in heavy cream, scraping up browned bits from the pan. Add Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Simmer 3–5 minutes until thickened.
-
Plate steaks and pour creamy garlic sauce over the top. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy every luscious bite!
Notes
-
Resting the steaks after cooking keeps them juicy and tender.
-
Don’t rush the sauce — let it gently thicken for the silkiest texture.
-
You can swap heavy cream for half-and-half if you want a slightly lighter sauce (but the richness is so worth it!).
-
Feel free to toss in mushrooms or spinach to the sauce for extra flavor!
